AI As Energy Orgy
AI doesn’t need this much energy. DeepSeek showed that you can run AI
without incinerating a rainforest, but OpenAI just ignored them because
their actual business is incinerating money. OpenAI is just NVIDIA,
Microsoft, and Oracle in a trenchcoat, passing IOUs between each other
and calling it an economy. AI is just the cover-story, the real
business is selling more GPUs, pouring more concrete, and burning ever
more energy. In this context, why would you want to make AI more
efficient? It gets in the way of the grifting.
Remember that energy is the economy and, in lieu of actual
productivity, America has been looking for busy work to keep the bezzle
going. After crypto and VR, AI is the story that stuck, and they’re
sticking to it. So of course there’s no drive in America to make AI
more thrifty; that would make the grift less grifty. In this context,
DeepSeek is like the guy bringing dental dams and gloves to an orgy.
The US of AI has just ignored them to get even more down and dirty.
That’s why every OpenAI model actually gets less efficient, requiring
more powerful chips from NVIDIA, and bigger data centers from
Microsoft, Oracle, et al. Because that’s what they’re actually selling,
and people and planet can literally go to hell. The inefficiency of
OpenAI is a feature, not a bug, a final pull of the planetary rug,
disguised as a magic carpet ride.
Energy and AI Report
AI now uses as much energy as Saudi Arabia (415 TWh), which is the last
thing we should be adding to the world. By 2030 it will use as much
energy as Japan (945 TWh) not because it has to, but because it can.
Because (White) AI is a fucking scam. In fact, we shouldn’t be wasting
any resources on AI during a wholesale resource collapse, but if you
bring that up, uh… scram. Instead of Noah’s Ark we get ARK
Investments, somehow losing money on a Ponzi scheme and calling it a
plan.
Don’t forget that the world doesn’t need AI at all. We don’t need
super-intelligence to solve stupid problems. It’s like if your house is
on fire and you light a ritual fire in the middle of it to consult
Agni. It’s not that complicated, to fire, do not add gasoline. To cure
diseases, don’t increase them by polluting. Whatever theoretical
benefits AI brings are outweighed by the known benefits of more
pollution, resource use, and waste heat. Whatever it is, it’s not worth
it. Unless you’re selling gasoline, and have some rape island to
retreat to.
We’re supposed to be pumping the brakes before a climate cliff, but
these guys are accelerating like Thelma and Louise. We’re supposed to
be refactoring Saudi Arabia, not recreating it. We’re supposed to be
reducing energy use, but this is an energy orgy, run by the dirtiest
dicks in the known universe. AI doesn’t need this much energy, and we
don’t even need AI at all, but you’re getting it, and the planet won’t
forget it. White AI is an energy orgy by evil elites, and we’re being
left with the most disgusting part. The clean up.
